En ese mar vacío que es la estepa,
no queda más que viento.
Sus corrientes fluyen salvajes
por caminos de barro ciegos.
Recuerdo desamparado
a las últimas luces del día,
se suspende en el calmo oleaje
un gesto de despedida.
Max Bober is an Argentinian composer, improviser and violinist who now lives in Warsaw. In 2020, he released the CD "Somos" on Edition Wandelweiser Records. Emiliano Salvatore, also from Argentina, is a composer, improviser and guitarist based in Berlin.
The six pieces on this album, performed on violin and electric guitar, were inspired by memories of the Patagonian Steppe, which spans the area where Max Bober was born. The six pieces are similar in nature; each of them might be called a variation. The straightforward melodies evoke a sense of nostalgia, touching the heart.
