Description
This seems like a nice value add for students/educator that use this type of representation. The actual ask for BFF is just to add a "Process files" script for voxel representation of images.
From Kara C. (educator)
Thanks for reaching out.
The reason we have been extracting information about the voxels (x, y, z, t, intensity in each channel) into a csv format to be able to build visualizations and models (including logistic regression as well as spatial and Bayesian statistical approaches) of time-resolved microscopy data.
One thing that my collaborators and I are trying to do is to study spatial-temporal cell morphology and gene expression pattern changes by making descriptive and possibly predictive models. Some sort of tabular output from the image data can help biology-computational collaborations like the ones that I'm trying to build.
Hope this helps and feel free to ask more questions.
Thanks again for continuing to work on BFF - I'm gearing up to use it with my Developmental Biology course in a couple of weeks to talk about metadata, data sharing, and seed some ideas for independent projects that aren't acquiring more microscopy images but analyzing existing ones.
