Description

All blocks that use images need to have an way of adding alt tab. For example, the Icon List block.

Step-by-step reproduction instructions

Starting 28 June 2025, EU Regulation 2019/882 (the European Accessibility Act, EAA) takes effect for new products, with a transitional period for existing ones. Alt attributes are a standard requirement in accessibility checks run by all major page-testing tools (PSI, GTmetrix, WebPageTest, and so on).

Ideally, the alt value should either:

  1. be pulled automatically from the image's alt text in the media library, or
  2. allow an option to generate an empty alt attribute if the image is purely decorative and not part of the content.
