Issue with \MakeUppercase #2

Hello,
Using the nssample.tex file, I cannot manage to fix the following error:
[7] [8] [9] [10]
! Undefined control sequence.
\MakeUppercase ...ppercaseUnsupportedInPdfStrings
l.116 ...pter*[Foreword by R.~E.~Viewer]{Foreword}
?
Looking on the internet
suggests that the solution would be to wrap every call to \MakeUpperCase inside what will be shown in toc with \textorpdfstring.
Is there another way to fix this?
