Lively can play online video streams as wallpaper (by default uses the browser.)

Try the following to switch to using mpv player (installer version of Lively only):

1. Download the latest version of yt-dlp.exe software.
2. Close any running video wallpapers.
3. Navigate to Lively install location.

• For non-admin install:

  C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Local\Programs\Lively Wallpaper\

• For admin install:

  C:\Program Files\Lively Wallpaper\

4. Open \plugins\mpv\ folder, rename yt-dlp.exe to youtube-dl.exe and copy the file to this location.
5. Close and re-open Lively, navigate Lively Settings -> Wallpaper > Stream to adjust Video Quality and check Detect Streams.
6. Simply drag and drop the video website address into lively window to set as wallpaper.

This is intended for live streams and will use internet data. For regular videos, it’s better to download the file instead. If you experience stability issues, please switch to a downloaded video - new bug reports for this feature will no longer be accepted.
