Hi there!

Just bought it and wonder how I can modify it with Gimp. Does it work? How do I unlock the layers to modify them afterwards?

As I’m not a Gimp user and the item itself was created in Photoshop, it’s hard to tell you the right thing. In Photoshop, to unlock the layers you just simply go the layer palette, and press the lock icon to release the layer folders.
