It is central to most major religions the need to control the sex lives of their followers.

The Bible doesn’t say that masturbation is a sin, but since Christianity is a religion, they cannot permit their followers to control their own sex lives.

As a result, most sexual expression is considered a sin, and they will use any excuses or lies possible to make sure it stays that way.

  • One other way of saying “melt that horse” is “cook that horse.”

I forget the exact recipe for hide glue, but I think it mostly is a process that involves soaking and heating hide with lime (not the fruit). Also materials that can be used in the production of leather.

Anyways, if you cook enough horse and you make enough horse leather in an area with lime, and you’re observant enough, hide glue is sort of an inevitable discovery.

  • It’s been my personal experience that sexual attraction is a separate thing from acting on it. Like, I can find my friend’s wife attractive, yet somehow I don’t assault her or pressure her to have sex with me. Even if I found myself in a situation where we were alone and she was unable to resist me.

Even if she took some crazy aphrodisiac and wanted me, but I knew she wasn’t really in control of herself, nothing would happen with me because I know it’s wrong and I have self control. I can say for sure because I’ve been in a similar situation to that, but it was a woman who was desperate to control her sex addiction.

But I’m not a pedophile, maybe it’s different for them.

  • 2½ years’ jail for man wanted by FBI for facilitating oil supply to North Korea

One of the most awkward headlines I’ve seen. How can he already be sentenced if he’s still wanted?

So this guy, Kwek Kee Seng, is a 66 year old Singaporean. He arranged for ships to transfer 6.9 million USD worth of gas oil to North Korean ships in 2019, and he did it remotely.

On April 7, 2026, Kwek, 66, was sentenced to 30 months’ jail and fined $80,000 after pleading guilty to three counts of flouting UN sanctions, one count for receiving the criminal benefits, and another for obstructing the course of justice. Twelve other charges of a similar nature were taken into account.

So since it’s UN, I guess he was sentenced in The Hague and never came to America, so the FBI never had jurisdiction to arrest him? I’m honestly not sure what the hell the FBI has to do with this situation.

I had a similar problem when I lived in Japan, but it manifested in sort of the opposite manner. My Japanese was shit, but my work (as an English teacher) required that I answer the phone using a long Japanese greeting.

Eventually, I could do that greeting in my sleep with very little accent. And I have a name that could be mistaken for a Japanese name.

Inevitably, I’d finish the greeting and they’d respond with a torrent of full speed Japanese that I couldn’t understand at all.

I considered doing the greeting poorly, but instead, I just said “Hello” in English after finishing the greeting and people usually got the idea.

Yeah, the joke doesn’t really work, does it? Any decent programmer will have a better shot at fixing a printer, because any decent programmer is good at finding information on the internet and then following the instructions.

Programmers complain about this situation because once people know that we use the computers, they expect us to fix everything for them for free. So, it’s just annoying. But I wouldn’t sacrifice my life to avoid a minor annoyance, so the joke doesn’t really work.

If you’re a programmer that doesn’t generally know how to find instructions to fix things like printers on the internet and then follow them, then I’m on the side of the guy who wants to shoot them.
