With the coming govt. actions starting to more directly and visibly affect people’s lives, it will probably wake up (lol) at least a few people. Assuming they are all evil will harm us more than help us. At the end of the day, we are all human. We need all the help we can get and if they are offering, it would be rude to dismiss them.

Unless they come out the gate swinging, please be careful. I don’t know about you, but I want to get as many people as possible on board with combating the far right.

Attacking somebody who is legitimately trying to learn will only entrench them deeper in their prior beliefs. It might take a few sentences to find out if they are being genuine, but if you can change their perspective, it is worth it.

That is where the effort comes in.

I can almost guarantee you can find a 18 or 21+ server for your interests. If not, I am sure there are servers dedicated to a similar age range that have channels you can chat in.

There are many people who have developed long term long distance relationships online. Keep in mind that building relationships takes time and effort. Anybody who is active on a server can be a long term friend.

Instant friendships are very hard to find. If you are lucky, you might stumble on one, but I would recommend not expecting that to be the norm.

I have found people with similar interests on Discord. Say what you will about the platform, it is good for finding communities.

The smaller the better.

Joining a large server might make you feel lost in the sea of voices or end up with a ton of spam. You might need to swap between a few to find a community that actually fits you. But it is worth it.

I would imagine this is them putting political pressure on Trump to uphold his campaign promise. The uniformed will open the app, see that message, and know where to direct their attention.

Especially if Silksong comes out this year. I could see a board memeber pointing at it saying, “IF THAT FLAT GAME CAN MAKE A MORBILLION DOLLARS, WE CAN MAKE ONE SO FAST AND GET SO MUCH MONEY!”

I love how in the article they are presenting this as “people looking for a tiktok alternative”. Instagram and YT shorts are right there, the people joining this app are either doing it in protest or following the trend that those people started. Most of the people joining probably aren’t going to it because of it’s prior reputation as a stelar app or because they think it will protect their data.
