Can it connect to the VPNs simultaneously though? I don’t have it, but from what I see it can have configurations from multiple vpns but only one can be up at a time.

I am running tailscale to access my homelab and my exit node and I use wireguard protonVPN connection for that exit node. It involved messing with nftables, check this for more info. In theory, you could do the same with two wireguard connections. One connection in and one as an exit. Maybe easier solution would be having these on separate machines/vms. Having the exit vpn on the openWRT as default for all connections and then the connection in on a separate container or vm, and it would exit through the router. I am not sure but I think the wireguard then naturally exits trough the router (gateway).

1·6 days agoI agree that parents should be teaching a lots of things, but if they don’t know how to do things, there should be some instances where to amend that. In case of teeth cleaning I think dentists as experts on dental hygiene should be the good resource. Lots of dentists is even overloaded, at least in Czechia, so I would guess its in their interest to teach people how to care about teeth. The story about potty training is crazy. Its like the other day I have been recommended a youtube video that showed stuff like how to clean toielt, bathtube or kitchen, and I was absolutely stunned how many commenters were thanking the guy for showing them how to do that. I mean good that he did, but I would have never thought there is so many people that do not know how to clean after themselves…
Yeah, I have stumbled upon the old internet movement quite recently and I really love it, I want to jump on that bandwagon as well. Good old days 😀 I feel like grandpa. I am curious where we are heading with all the sh…t thats happening.
I think you would be fine just installing the apps in TrueNAS. You can have snapshots, you can have remote backup with e.g. StorJ and updating is so easy. I was also doing stuff manually but eventually found out that it’s not worth it. And realistically I won’t stop using TrueNAS anytime soon.

1·7 days agoYeah, I feel similarly. I think it would be okay as a guidance to teach us to properly clean our teeth (believe it or not, vast majority of people already do not know how to properly do that and dentists do not teach us) but blindly follow apps all the time… We will end up like in wall-e or something. My backup is just actually do things intentionally. I don’t care if It is slow, I have time, why would I rush things. I guess I am trying to enjoy the journey rather than focus on goals and stuff.

2·7 days agoThough of course they will tell you to replace the head early because that way they sell more. With Suri, btw, I have a case that has ultraviolet light, I can disinfect the head with that and use the head for a little bit longer that way.

1·7 days agoYes sadly it is. And of course the trackers in the app for Oral-B are off the scale. It’s absolutely not needed, especially when the newer Oral-B’s have the charging station that also doubles as indicator if you press too hard, which sector you should brush and which sectors you have already done (not that I need any of that).

71·12 days agoIts your right of course. I think, though, that internet is often amplifying even the tiniest negative things while forgeting all good stuff (not limited to TrueNAS). I hate such culture, especially when the people (not you, in general) then go and use stuff like Twitter and similar. I mean how is it that people witch hunt this incredible free product they are getting, no strings attached and at the same time doom scroll tik tok or use WhatsApp or have windows or mac… You get the gist. I wish internet echo chambered also the positive stuff… I’ll stop rambling, sigh, sorry…
It probably doesn’t, and that was not my point. I am okay using US soft if it’s open source. That said US based project might be under certain pressures from the govt which adds a slight amount of uncertainty.
Yes and they made it super easy. I mean kudos to ente basically making it easy not to pay them (I pay them anyway 😀)

35·13 days agoAs started in other comments, TrueNAS is staying open source, only the build system is going closed source because some company was ripping them off and removing license. But the OS system itself can’t go closed source because of the gpl license.
So no need to move away if you like it.
And Roblox to no Roblox.
Just FYI both ente and immich are US based, open source and both can be selfhosted. I tried both and they are both good.
I bough old FUJITSU Desktop (ESPRIMO D757/E90+) its ~2017 has 4 pcie. I bough cheap 3 ethernet NICs and 1 wi-fi on a maketplace/bazar and installed openWRT. Actually I installed proxmox and openWRT in a VM so that I can use that computer for other networking stuff like AdGuard, Tailscale, etc… Btw if you do this be careful which wifi you buy, not everything is easy to setup on OpenWRT.

You can influence and still follow the law. And I am not talking about the shady stuff. Just tell people what you are doing and why are you doing it.
