Murican patriotic rhetoric is full of liberty and the founding fathers and the flag and stuff. Do you think, without one of these elements, there would be no nationalism?

Because of nationalism and colonialism. They might use religious rhetoric where it suits them and there are religious people in government, I don’t deny that, but over all it’s a ethnic supremecist ideology and religion is only one identity marker, not the motivator.
Or rather nationalists. It’s not that the IDF is a religious organization or something

If Europe isn’t a continent then neither is India!
Continents is a human made construct that’s later rationalized with tectonic plates and other criteria. Basically, people around the Mediterranean Sea divided the Mediterranean Coast into 3 parts and later extended this concept.
Sounds like my job description
Let me introduce you to be Peter principal: As long as you do your job well, you get promoted. On the flip side this means that eventually you arrive at a job you don’t do well and that’s where you stick because you can’t return to your old position but neither will you get fired because you work for the company too long. That’s why there are many people in middle management who did their job well until they had to manage others which isn’t part of their skill set.
Fun fact: it was long considered a myth that Luther nailed his 99 thesises on the door until it was found out that this door was basically a black board anyone could pin anything on so it’s likely true but not very impressive
