If you’re out of data, don’t use websites with a lot of data (such as autoplaying videos), without a plugin or something to minimize it.

If your chat can break your entire 400 k connection just by sending you a link, you should probably look at using some other software. Although of course that’s hard, if your friend aren’t willing to follow.

400kbps would be slow as hell, for all of those use cases.

I did those things just fine on my first internet connection, which was 14.4k.

When I upgraded to 54k, it was blazingly fast.

Remember we are not talking about modern comfort, we are talking a connection that is out of data. It’s okay to be annoyed.

That’s crazy. But I assume most people would use an app, which usually has a low amount of traffic.

It’s enough for email, chats, banking and other essentials.

I would say it’s not enough to stream a movie, which seems fair to me if you spent all the data you have for the period.

Another fiction to look at could be Star Trek. Pretty much everything materialistic is free. You study and work not to afford your materialistic needs and wants, but for the joy of doing it.

And people do build careers and business, for the joy and the achievement of it.

Honestly, I think it would be healthy for you to study just a little bit about what it’s like to be poor and unprivileged. If nothing else, it should make you feel more lucky in life, and make you appreciate what you have more.

First, about a third of the world population doesn’t have access to internet at all.

Second, what do you think a person can do with internet, when their intire life is about getting enough food to survive? And how would an education even help, if you have no chance of ever getting a job or starting a business bigger than selling water and snacks to people stuck in traffic near your bridge?

If you have never been so physically and mentally used, and so far down, and so out of options that the only way of of the missery is substance abuse, you are lucky.

If you are so far away from all of this, that you are unaware of its existence, you are very lucky.

Lots of people don’t have access to any of the information sources you had, or the ability to take any of the options you did.

You had plenty of good options, and you chose from those. Some people only have bad options. They pick bad options, because that’s all they have.

That only shows that SOME of the people who somehow relates to you, have options.

Have you ever wondered why they don’t take those options? You might have missed something that prevents them.

Or maybe better: Have you wondered about the people further away from you? I can guarantee you, millions of people literally don’t have any good options. If you haven’t met any, that only means you have met any.

We live in a society with a lot of equality almost anyone smart enough can work hard enough to get themselves out of almost any situation.

That really depends on where you live, your health and possibly several points about your parents. Millions and millions of people never get a chance to grab, never get an opportunity to pursue.

It is entirely within your choice to live under a bridge.

Lots of people don’t have any better options than to live under a bridge, despite being in an area where that is illegal and not a real option.

Actually, just go to the library. Depending on where you live, you’ll not just find all kinds of books, there may also be audio book, board games, console games, game consoles and computers you can just use.

There might comfortable furniture and coffee, you can go there just for the mood or the peace.

Got kids? There might be a whole section just for kids. It may include toys or even a play-area.

There might a whole wall of post from people who wants your attention on something. There’s probably a few about free activities you could join.

I know all that. But even if it’s not the majority, it’s still s looot of people.
