It looks like federation is still catching up, too.
Definitely not cheating on the instance. /s

Programmer Humor@lemmy.ml•Looking for vibe coder with vibe management skills
·1 month agoAnd even this improvement wasn't universally appreciated: some people found error messages they couldn't ignore more annoying than wrong results, and, when judging the relative merits of programming languages, some still seem to equate "the ease of programming" with the ease of making undetected mistakes.
This guy was writing in the year x86 was first introduced, and I still feel like I see this attitude around.
(He manages to shoehorn in a "kids these days" comment too, though)

I'm going to cut to the chase and just say it: this is the press release equivalent of "well we'll bomb you infinity plus one". All it really says is that they have morale and will keep going.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Whats your advice to the younger folks of Lemmy?
·1 month agoLearn a second language and keep up with the language your parents speak. You will regret being a brat about not wanting to speak this language especially as your family members pass.
Languages are the one thing that gets harder as you get older. Kinda why immersion schooling seems like a decent idea, even if it delays other skills a bit.
American English is the most spoken kind and pretty close to British RP, so it's not Quebecois. If you want a weird dialect, maybe Jamaican patois, or some of the ones from backcountry UK.

·1 month agoLike the first on-site comment said, that feels like predicting something after it's already kind of happening - Venezuela is currently under US proxy control, and it seems to be holding, and Iran is currently having a power vacuum bombed into it. For the same reason 2050 is too far off.

·1 month agoThere's a whole bunch of other articles still talking about it, so that's interesting. I might have to look deeper into it.
If the price makers behind the glut are under military siege or have their equipment blown up it's academic, though.

Nice. Although TBH I didn't mind piecing it together from out-of-order chunks. Definitely don't burn yourself out trying to make complete stories!
