I just started a few months ago because I'm dating someone who is a big trekhead, I'd never seen it before. Like others are saying, she recommended we just start watching TNG from the beginning, and now we're more than half way through it and I'm a fan.

I had a dream that I was in a big house with some old friends and everyone's parents, but it was a first-person simulated reality so it felt very real but I was aware none of us were physically there. It was very strange but got weirder when I realized one of these friends had OD'd years ago. I had conversation with his parents along the lines of "who is playing K-- right now?" And they didn't know who.

Also had a different dream last week that Trump had morphed into a female anime character. I don't know anime at all so like not a specific character, but as though Trump used a filter on his phone so that he looked like an anime girl, but everyone was "that is what he looks like now!"

I started reading science fiction and fantasy books exclusively before bed and it helped me. There's something very nice about books that are not located in our reality; there is a different world with different rules and you can kind of get lost in there and let your own real world thoughts be put to the side. I usually fall asleep pretty quickly now. The only downside is that sometimes I wake up the next day with my bedlight on and my face in a book.

I always got a creep vibe with Gaiman that I don't with Pratchett, so hopefully that isn't coloring my thinking about this, but...it seems like what I've read about their collaboration was mostly email and sending each other floppy disks in the 90s, and at that point NG hadn't won all these awards and TP was well established, I wouldn't be surprised if NG presented a version of himself to TP that he thought would be most endearing. By the time NG's assaults seemed to ramp up in the late aughts and tens, TP already was dealing with Alzheimers. It seems possible that Sir Terry didn't know what a shitbird Gaiman was capable of being.

But then again what the hell do I know, just some thoughts.
