about

'So Far, So Close' is the follow-up to 2023's 'Summer Chronicles' from David Cordero and Rhucle. We're thrilled to be welcoming back another collaboration between these two leading artists in the organic ambient scene.

Both artists are known for their fragile ambient works with carefully constructed melodicism, and their debut together was highly celebrated. Their follow-up is once again a meditation on nature and the balance of our relationship to it and each other as we enter a new spring season, with the cover art by Rhucle himself reflecting this perfectly.

Here are some words from the artists:

'"So far, so close" is an example of how we feel when we work together. Despite geographical distance we are musically very close but at the same time physically we are very far from each other. Despite the geographical distance, the 11,242 kilometres that separates us has not prevented us from composing these new songs together.'

'For 'So Far, So Close' we worked in the same way as on ‘Summer Chronicles’. Our engine has been to send each other tracks, record over them in our studios and compose this new release between Cadiz and Tokyo.'

The reflection on geographical distance and yet the ability to create together is something that resonates deeply. Despite the strains of modern technology and the impact it has on mental health worldwide, as a label we are able to put out so much music due to modern technology and file sharing which is ever easier now. And yet, it is important to remember that what brings us together is not the form itself but the intention and connection we feel with others from different parts of the world with their own language, culture, timezone and ways of being.

It is important to remember and reflect on this essence in all our communication, and how privileged we are to be able to interact with each other in an organic, personal and creative way with kindness and humanity. 'So Far, So Close' is a reflection of what it means to be truly connected in these modern times, in the best of ways.

Thank you for listening.

Entering and fading slowly, each enveloping setting radiates like warm sunlight flickering through drifting clouds and with every micro-element fit snugly into place...an exquisite collection of fragile ambient miniatures that warrants repeat listening. - Textura
