No no, Big Library just isn’t Big enough to stick it to Big IP, so that’s why it seems like it even though I know librarians are still much the same.

I’m not saying they’re not, or that the librarians are any more capitalist than they were in the 90’s. I’m just saying it feels like they are.

I mean, yeah, sure, I guess that’s a decent solutions in terms of modern IP shit.

But like, we all know you’re not returning anything and if you wanted, you could also copy it for yourself.

I just dislike how it feels like when it was actually books, they had actual reasons to everything. There’s a queue because there’s limited copies. You need to return it and if you’re late there’s a fee, because it’s from other people’s time, etc. Nowadays that all feels like larping just to protect large companies IP’s essentially. Because digital copies don’t actually get returned.

Like when I was a kid I would’ve never thought a librarian would say “you’re not allowed to read that anymore”. Or that I couldn’t copy a thing down at home from one of their books. But now as your tokens to ebooks expire, it kinda does feel like that.

Fair. Although in this case I think semantically we could argue it’s more of a “method of choice” thing. Kinda like smoking dabs vs taking edibles. Not exactly but close enough. Especially if one doesn’t decarb the edibles.

on coke or crack it’s an instant DQ

Drug test wise those are 100% the same btw. Don’t mind me I’m just pedantic

Pretty good for a show with only 11 seasons.

Anyone who measures their age by Simpsons seasons will sadly not have sufficient suspension of disbelief for that.

I can only remember 11 or so, sure. But I know there’s like 35.

I genuinely don’t give a shit about your “opinions”.

You’re literally defending trillion dollar companies while implying they’re essentially socialists.

You say Walmart profit margin is at most 4% and directly connect “money supply grow by 8% a year” to it HEAVILY implying those should be the SAME value thus implying that Walmart is essentially giving to charity because the profit margins don’t equal the number that money supply gross annually.

It’s the same shit as measuring your leg and pretending it has something to do with IQ.

You’re so disingenuous that I don’t believe it’s on accident. I refuse to believe someone like you is actually that dumb and not just pretendin.

Why are you genuinely disregarding everything I say about your points? Feels like you’re being disingenuous.

You showcase that profits are 4%, but growth of money supply is 8%, and then heavily imply those can be directly compared, meaning that Walmart is actually losing money with 4% profits when they “should” have that number at the 8%, even when those figures don’t correlate at all.

It’s like saying that since my shoe size is 44 that my IQ must be X or Y. Shoe size has nothing to do with IQ, even if IQ was objective and good enough to be valuable.

Because that’s how economies of scale work; you say a bigger number happens in another process, which implies that 4% profits are actually 4% socialist.

Man, I really didn’t think you were going for the “Walmart is actually socialist” - bit, I thought it’s beyond exaggerated comedy for me to even suggest you’d be dumb enough to argue that…. yet here we are. Lol.

You’re comparing two completely different things; profitability per dollar vs. absolute growth of business.

They’re not the only one to blame, no.

The system is propped up by everyone simultaneously. Especially when there’s people like you defending giant corporations like Walmart.

Also I’m not American

Oh no, not less than 4%, that makes it all alright, because economies of scale for a trillion-dollar company definitely don’t make 4% a figure anyone could even think about protesting against.

Nooo, Walmart is practically socialist, because the profit margins are single percentages. That’s definitely how this works.

Walmarts margins are ass,

It’s literally a trillion-dollar company.

Why do you deep-throat capitalism so?

“I’m not reading your comments. Or the Wikipedia links. Because reading is dumb! >:(”

I don’t understand how people like you don’t realise how it seems to admit to willfully being ignorant online.

Just because you can’t read more than a single sentence without looking at your phone doesn’t mean we all do. Some of us enjoy reading and writing. And that “some of us” does not contain you. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

onto your keyboard and reply with human words instead of having a clanker do the work for you. It’s obvious with your lazy replies

Gee, thanks buddy. I remember like 20 years ago when people used to be super snide much in a similar way as you are now. Only it was “it’s obvious you have wall hacks” because I listened a little bit better than they did. It feels just, so good.

Who the fuck would use an AI to write forum replies? You, probably. Or someone you know. See you accuse me of being friendly with machines when you call yourself “a real machinist.”

Your dumbfounded “I’ll not open your Wikipedia links without explanation"-ignorance is the reason I come to forums like these. I enjoy watching you get upset and project a ton. :)
