I can’t say I’ve really tried one, I’ve had hit or miss success with sticky bras but I don’t think I’ve ever really had anything where a strapless makes sense over sticky, tit tape with nip covers or just what the dress or top has built in (other than normal bras obviously). Maybe I should give one a shot so I can weigh in properly…
Imo pasties for smaller boobs, full fitted corsets for bigger boobs. The price difference does make it unfair but at least a properly fitted corset does provide support.
This is the right answer. A good corset distributes the weight to your torso and hips, and keeps things in place and supported without straining your shoulders. I wish there were more modern equivalents of Edwardian corsets that were readily available. There are so many “boudoir” bustiers and gothy or Steampunk or fetish corsets everywhere, but if you want a plain cotton one for everyday underwear there’s like maybe three or four specialty online shops or you just have to make one.
I’d love to know about those shops.
Heads up, they’re expensive because they are not mass produced. Almost all corsets made to be everyday garments are specialty items made by very small shops or individuals catering to reenactors and other niche markets.
However, if you take care of it it should last a decade or more, so if you can afford it it might be a great investment for you.
I was going to suggest Redthreaded, but it looks like they swapped to only doing patterns just this past December 😞
Here are some others but I have not purchased from them myself.

I know Atelier Sylph has an excellent reputation, their patterns are highly regarded
I second wanting to know those shops
I have never been able to get them to work. I am just a C so I don’t think I’m stressing them. I’m to the point though if I need a special, uncomfortable bra to wear it, it’s not going to be a part of my wardrobe.
Yep I’m an E cup and they’ve been unbearable since I grew out of B cups as a kid. I’m the same mind as you, if the need bra is uncomfortable I just don’t get the outfit.
Are you wearing the correct size? Because a properly fitting bra should always work strapless since the band should provide the most support. When I used to wear the wrong size, I could never get a strapless bra to fit and the straps would always dig in because they did the heavy lifting. I’m now much bigger than I was back then, and strapless bras actually work great for me.
If you’re interested in what styles worked for me, I’d be happy to help.
Yep, completely sure I know my bra size. Thank you.
I bought one years ago for a special occasion dress. It was properly fitted to me, but was so uncomfortable it never got worn again. So I made sure I never again chose a dress that needed one.
The physics of them wont ever work
