That’s how conversations work, people don’t always fixate on the thing that you are trying to make a point on. They follow up with their points of view and things they can contribute with.

Hey my computer stopped working, can you help?
Have you tried using a calculator instead?

The proper one would be:

Hey my Ford stopped working, can you help?
Have you tried using arch linux a BMW instead?
