1·22 hours agoHonestly, I doubt there is. You’re suspending it away from metal and wood, seems like the best solution other than replacing the antenna with something expensive and “mounting” that separately.

20·22 hours agoThe absolute hilarity of this, insofar as there can be, is that ICE was involved in the arrest, meaning he is likely in federal custody awaiting deportation.
So there is a non zero chance this guy gets deported and faces no consequences.

Programmer Humor@programming.dev•Scam Altman says it’ll take another year before ChatGPT can start a timer. An $852 billion company, ladies and gentlemen.
6·2 days agoGod I hate that. “Alexa turn on sleep” was a reliable “turn on sleep scene” until “Alexa Plus” came around, and now it randomly assumes in trying to tell it goodnight and tells me to have a good night.
Same with “sixty minutes” being immediately parsed as “sixty minute timer” and now sometimes simply results in a “what about sixty minutes?”
They’ve lowered the success metrics and satisfaction a whole bunch, but don’t fret you can now hold a “conversation” with it! Complete with logical contradictions!

1·2 days agoKnowing what time it is now, and telling the user the timer has completed, are two separate things.
How useful is a “oh by the way your timer ended three hours ago” tacked on to the end of the next interaction?
Yeah, surprisingly even at those speeds, you’re looking at over 4 hours from one side of the US to another.
No, you misunderstand. It is literally impossible, with current technology, to achieve the desired metric because of the sheer size of some countries.
Even if you somehow managed to have a fleet of Blackbirds at your disposal for instant public transport, it would take well over an hour to reach one end of the US/Canada to the other, just as an example.
Hawaii is a 10/11 hour flight from certain parts of the us.
Alaska is 11/12 hours to Florida, 14/15 to Puerto Rico.
Even if you don’t want to include those, it’s 6/7 hours from Seattle to Miami.
Yukon to Newfoundland is 6/7 hours.
These exclude boarding times and such.
Even if you went with current high speed trains, and exclude continental breaks between land masses, you’re talking about quite a few hours.
Good luck staying horny that long.
Literally impossible in certain countries.
Prolly buys her stuff there too.
I don’t believe there are any truly hairless mammals?

5·6 days agoYes, absolutely. This has some major implications for thousands. I should have been more clear that I’m not saying this is bunk, just that it is in a small number, limited to a specific kind of deafness, and side effects haven’t been fully studied.
I’m in no way trying to discredit what was achieved, I just hate this level of clickbait title.

I meeeean…. I kinda agree with you, but where exactly do you expect funding to come from? “Focus only on the browser. That they make no money off. Also stop accepting money from Google.”
Like I get it to an extent, it would be nice. But how exactly is “make no money” a viable business plan?
