No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is there a platform like github that isn't for code?
4·4 days agoI have been tinkering with this idea for a project file oriented version control software
I’m not sure if it’s in a state that I can share it yet but if you want to take a look I’m calling it duh.
I plan to eventually create an entire DuhHuh to serve as GitHub for everyone.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•I'm 29 and my partner is only 28 am I exploiting her?
41·11 days agoIf it helps 27/28 is greater than 17/18.
The older you get the closer you are in age.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•can i still consider myself to be a valid asexual?
2·11 days agoI feel like this describes me and I call myself demisexual, I’m only attracted to people who are attracted to me after years of pursuing people who hurt me for wanting them.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why is stack overflow so horrible?
5·12 days agoAs far as I understand stackoverflow wants to be a wiki based on discussions. The consequences of this is whenever something feels duplicate it gets culled.
Stackoverflow can’t seem to distinguish new content from existing

Unpopular Opinion@lemmy.world•The Lemmy userbase isn't much better than that of Reddit.English
2·12 days agoI recently replied to someone agreeing with them and they blocked me,
Kinda childish to announce it in a comment that way like if they blocked me without telling me I wouldn’t have known and still wouldn’t care

Reddit@lemmy.world•With Reddit flirting with requiring Age verification, the next Rexit might be around the corner, are we ready?
1·19 days agoThere is not
I need to come up with a solution for registration and validation that I feel safe with. I don’t feel personally comfortable hosting user generated content yet, but once I work out things like verifying emails and doing appropriate CYA then I’ll deploy an instance. I already have userless.xyz locked down.
I’m also missing some features like sponsoring anonymous keys and now I’m working on the decentralized peer-to-peer protocol which I might be more comfortable deploying an instance of.
There’s still so much more to do

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•If all life is just a simulation designed to test a specific theory what is the theory?
21·20 days agoThis could be a extremely over engineered simulation for discovering medical procedures and cures… think about it if you can create a simulation where everything is happening some of those things could cause injuries or illness and some of those things get treated and some of those cases get better.
Personally I believe we are just the imagination of a large language model whose job it is to spit out medical advice to real people.

Reddit@lemmy.world•With Reddit flirting with requiring Age verification, the next Rexit might be around the corner, are we ready?
3·20 days agoSo far I’ve created a 4chan and Reddit clone. I’m also planning a peer to peer web app, and a standalone aggregator software written in flutter dart.
Edit: just read up on tripcodes, it’s primitive and elegant, I like it.

Reddit@lemmy.world•With Reddit flirting with requiring Age verification, the next Rexit might be around the corner, are we ready?
13·21 days agoI’ve been doing something that could be called preparing. I’ve been messing with this idea for decentralizing the user identity there by decoupling the posts and users from the platform and even potentially eliminating the concept of a platform.
I called it userless because there are no users in the database.
Tbh I’d like for this to gain some smidgen of use, it’s more of a technical explanation for me atm.
I mean if you really want “we have life on earth”

Programming@programming.dev•Moving from GitHub to Codeberg, for lazy people
21·21 days agoI can already assert my intentions to stay on GitHub, even with all the AI and spyware and stealing data and whatever, all my code that is public is also available for anyone else to train a model, and all of my private repos are just backups for shit that’s probably not worth anything, all of my valuable shit I keep backed up my way. I guess if you were using GitHub to store your valuables then you’d be pissed but there’s the taking-responsibility part.

Mildly Interesting@lemmy.world•Zombo.com recently underwent new management
3·22 days agoJust for my edification is this what I’m missing out?
Do you do all that before or after you go to college, get married, buy a house for white picket fence, have three children, rank up at your 9:00 to 5:00, and lock down your pension?
Cuz I got to be honest I’m not really sure if the past is really much of a path
