Following their Backwidda and Butterfly remixes, which gained strong momentum across sets and dancefloors internationally, and a vinyl-only release on EC2A that sold out in under 15 minutes, Burna and Elbarto present ELBURNO 001.
A collaborative project formed between bedrooms, time zones, and tour schedules, the EP brings together five core tracks alongside a bonus VIP of their Backwidda remix, shaped by distance, shared influences, and a focus on sound system–ready production.
Although both artists hail from Perth, Western Australia, the project was written and completed remotely across multiple countries, with sessions taking place while moving between Europe, Asia, and Australia. Rather than following a strict plan, the release came together organically over the course of a month, with numerous sketches and ideas left behind along the way before the final selection emerged.
The result is a fluid blend of 4x4 pressure and broken beat experimentation, woven into a distinctive and functional sound that reflects a more focused and mature evolution in both artists’ approaches. Known for keeping a low profile, Elbarto initially declined to comment on the release. He was later spotted on a Fremantle beach, where his only contribution to the project’s press cycle was a single word: “shelly.”
Beyond the humour, ELBURNO 001 reflects the depth and consistency of two artists emerging from a city often overlooked within the wider Australian electronic landscape. Developed during a run of European shows over summer, the project coincides with a period of growing international interest, shaped through touring, DJ feedback, and direct audience connection.
It’s a release shaped by long-distance collaboration, shared taste, and an ongoing commitment to refining their sound. With much more material left in the archive, ELBURNO 001 may be just the first chapter, and hints of a future instalment are already on the table.

Travail de dingue sur les sonorités ! Je ne sais pas par quelle magie ces fous furieux ont réussi à sortir ces fréquences, mais une chose est sûre : woooooooooow ! paxleson
