Even peaceful protest is too much for Israelis to handle. They shoot Palestinians for nonviolent protest. They shoot Palestinians for not leaving their homes. They called it “diplomatic terrorism” then Palestinians went to the UN to complain and slapped sanctions on Palestinians.

When you do this, you make violent conflict inevitable. Netanyahu knows this and does it anyway. He wants that outcome.

Since they are at war, doesn’t this classify as the use of a chemical weapon? Israel signed but not ratified the Chemical Weapons Convention.

Obvioisly, this is irrelevant, they wouldn’t care either way.

As would Glyphosphate cropdusting on Lebanese and Palestinian farmland that the apartheid state has been doing for the past god knows how long.

As would the use of white phosphorus, which the Israeli occupation forces have been using on civilian areas in their invasion of southern Lebanon.

But we all know how effective international laws are, it took oil prices hit 190 a barrel and not spending my entire life watching the Palestine being flattened and occupied, 80% of Gaza (which itself is a sliver of Palestinian land by the coast) being destroyed in two years, for the international court of human rights to even remotely look at arrest warrants.

The world watched as ambulances, schools, hospitals, universities and homes were double tapped with artillery and rockets, dronestrikes and airstrikes these past three years, for the crime of being indigenous to land that the occupation wants for its “greater israel” project.

I’ve heard Christians justify this shit a decade ago by saying they are terrorist by association of where they born.

The people born in the holy land are terrorists?

Do they think Bethlehem is the old timey name for Cincinnati or do they just want to hide their regular ‘brown people bad’ racism beind an unsaid “blood and soil” instead of being overt, yknow, because they’re Christian?

I was too angry to listen to reason. Basically, all Palestinians as I understood were considered terrorist. If you aren’t Israeli or for Israel (explicitly), you are bad.

Once you believe in an eternal hell and that people deserve that just for thought crimes, anything and everything are excusable

Which is, of course, a violation of the Geneva Convention. Not that petty international laws should apply to “gOd’S cHoSeN pEoPlE.”

Just a subset of the idea that we’re all born sinners and have to claw our way up to show worthiness. It’s about control.

It was sickening to listen to someone tell me Israel is justified because… [insert random religious thing].
