Ye Power Trippin' Bastards@lemmy.dbzer0.com•Only mod of !mop@quokk.au bans for simple opposition
22·5 days agoI got banned in that very same thread as well, for the same reasons. Although admittedly I was being quite venomous so I guess I deserved it, but still. It’s a community filled with people who think that they didn’t participate in voting, so they’re free of blame for everything happening right now

1·6 days agoYou certainly sound more and more like you belong in America. How convenient for you to sit behind social media and blame others for doing the same. You’re nothing but a bitter, rabid moron looking for any reason to spew hate at an entire populace different than you… Much like the American republicans. But sure, I’m sure Americans love what’s happening to them and others. They overwhelmingly love the idea of bombing innocent children, out of control housing prices, gas and groceries becoming prohibitively expensive, medical bills through the roof and vital, life saving medications they can’t afford all while wages stay almost 20 years behind inflation. Yes, there are idiots in America who staunchly vote for this, just as there are people in every country who vote for their equivalent. You should actually consider that a country is not made up of a single, monolithic populace. But that would mean you need to be able to think critically

News@lemmy.world•Trump threats cause dilemma for US officers: disobey orders or commit war crimes
2·6 days agoDon’t you make the choice to risk your life for your country already by joining the military? Sounds like this is that risk for them. Risk stepping on an IED killing children or getting a court martial for not killing children is a risk either way, but one is infinitely better than the other.
Uh they already have been murdering democratic politicians. Remember that guy who got beaten with a hammer? Or that couple and their dog who got shot by a dude pretending to be a cop? It has been happening already. Your point is nonexistant
Another fun fact is that liberals scored 20 points at the highest, while conservatives scored a 12. So not only do they only care about themselves, they don’t even care about the people closest to themselves as much as liberals care about people they don’t know

62·6 days agoWhat an American trait you have, to make generalizations about an entire country’s citizens based on their government lying, cheating, stealing and ignoring what they want.
It is still used to refer to things like fire retardant. To retard (pronounced ruh-tard and not ree-tard) means to slow or restrict the progress of something such as spoilage or fire spreading and is still a word with ligitimate uses, with the outdated ‘medical’ usage being a reference to a mentally disabled person’s slower mental progress.
I would imagine most people’s opinions on their own opinions are that they are correct
Good lord dude, it’s a silly meme about how Jesus came back from the dead, kinda like zombies. Doesn’t really seem to be shitting on or offensive to Christianity to me. Especially considering I’ve known devout Christians who jokingly have made the same comparison before

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Stuck between living in America, China, or Japan... Which would you choose?
1·11 days agoYour analysis is ridiculous, incorrect and dangerous to OP. ICE are still active and still abducting people. They kidnapped a woman in front of her children after she passed the security checkpoint in the airport just hours after being placed there the first time. Plus, like I said before, a lawyer and paperwork MIGHT get you back out of the detention center after a few weeks, IF they decide to let you out and not just say they lost you, or ignore the order anyway. Everything in between those two times is totally up to the agents in how they want to treat you. You’re an idiot and have no place offering advice to anyone considering moving to this country

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Stuck between living in America, China, or Japan... Which would you choose?
2·12 days agoOkay, so I don’t understand the point of this response, still. It’s obvious that OP is deciding on a country to move to, considering that was the entire premise of this thread. You said paperwork will protect OP from ICE, misleading OP. I corrected that. My response was also with OP in mind, considering he is not as experienced with American life as an American is. Your appreciation of my contributions does not matter. What point are you trying to make right now?

1·12 days agoSure it’s a slippery slope, but it’s also exactly how corporations and governments have been behaving and there’s hundreds of examples of it. You’re being intentionally dense if you don’t believe that.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Stuck between living in America, China, or Japan... Which would you choose?
2·12 days agoOkay, and? I’m talking about the USA, specifically. The person above me implied keeping your paperwork in order will protect you from ICE, and I said that was false. I was not talking about China, nor Japan
I… But… Teeth??

I didn’t even know I was circumcised at birth until like halfway through highschool and I didn’t really care after finding out. And having now seen penises that are uncircumcised, I’m kinda glad I was. From my perspective, it didn’t hurt and I didn’t even know until 17ish years later. Everything works perfectly normally.
All of that was a buildup to a genuine question of why do you feel so upset by it? I don’t mean to be argumentative or dismissive, just want to see the point of view from someone else
