I have gotten some compilable python and VBA code for data analysis stuff at work, so I wonder if it is because embedded stuff uses specific SDKs that it can’t handle.

Either way I have given up on it for anything besides bouncing ideas off of or debugging where electromagnetics issues could lie (though it has been completely wrong about that also even though it is using the wrong concepts, it just reminds me of concepts that I might have overlooked)

But you are right, looks like I have a lot more to learn. I have only ever made a 1 layer of copper PWM speed controller because I guess I am not good enough to make 1 layer PCBs. Almost every design I have ever worked on would be physically impossible to use a 1 layer PCB simply due to the IC package pinouts literally not allowing it. They get around the via problem in your picture quite cleverly by using a dozen jumper wires as via+2nd copper layer. Plus there are no non-discrete ICs which helps a lot.

I would love to know the supplier that Philips uses here, none of my suppliers were willing to do such hand-wiring-intensive work for anything less than a fortune.

There are thousands of write wound boards, hand wired boards, or projects like this guy which are very well done and well engineered projects. Wire-wound PCBs were the first GPS modules also, and they were 10x the engineers I could ever hope to be.

By all means share the designs of all of the 1 layer boards you claim! I said nothing about single sided boards, my claim was about vias.

Having all of the components on a single board side is something completely different, you can have a 16 layer board with 10k vias with components only one one side.

SUSE released a set of completely open source sans serif font for targeted at os-level fonts. It is a pretty good font and I started using it on many of my systems.

I mean, that won’t really work. It dampens the signal, not eliminates it, and in order to block communications, you need a net width small enough to block 1/4 wavelength which is 5cm/4, so <1 cm holes with a material thick enough for the damping.

That would be a net that weighs like 20kg lol and it would essentially be a solid cage at that point

I would suggest first doing the basics first before diving in and trying to run cracked games. I had trouble and had to go through multiple troubleshooting steps to get DODI repacks working on windows even. the difference is there are a ton of resources of people spending hours and hours fixing broken cracked games on windows (dodi Hogwarts legacy has like 100+ threads on reddit with fixes) where Linux just isn’t popular enough yet to have a big community find fixes for your cracked games for you already and the fixes from windows often don’t work.

First try browsers, steam games, streamimg, and light use while dual booting, you can still keep windows for the games that don’t work on Linux.

It doesn’t have to be all or nothing. Just take it one step at a time. You are trying to reduce tracking. That is going to be 90% internet browsing, so if you already switch to Linux for that, you are much of the way there.
