And yes, Dan Harmon was involved in Strange Planet. I’m sad that as a second season is unlikely, but I think the show does a good job about talking about everyday life. Somewhat similar in vibes to Bob’s burgers, but I think more approachable and able to do more as the show only occasionally focuses on the reocurring characters.

If you’re looking for more Adult cartoons, I’ve got a slew of them. One that bridges the gap a little bit is Young Justice (more of a teen/young adult superhero show).

Here’s my suggestions:

• Summer Camp Island - It can feel a little childish at times, but definitely a good show.
• Fairly Odd Parents - Like SpongeBob you probably don’t need all the seasons, but the first few are great.

Anime (since you had some). Tried to pick accessible ones that don’t have 100s of episodes:

• My Hero Academia
• One punch man
• Mob Pyscho 100

Adultish Cartoons. All of these should be fine for most ages and seem to fit in with your other shows:

• Bob’s Burgers
• Close Enough (same people who did Regular Show)
• Strange Planet
• Central Park (same people as Bobs Burgers)
• Final Space

Yeah, a lot of people were proposing these kinds of ideas early on in EVs, but as range and charging speed have improved the extra cost for this infrastructure isn’t worth it.

Not only does it add cost, but would reduce range as it’s hard to engineer a easily swappable and slim battery (hence why most electronics don’t have them anymore.

Came here to ask this. Growing up we’d have hot air balloons land in our neighborhood pretty frequently, they’d usually have a bottle of wine to hand out.

Not the person you asked, but our system was around $20k for about 11 kWh setup for rooftop solar. Since Trump removed personal incentives for ownership we did a Lease to Own which helped shave $6k off the project (basically you “lease” the panels for 6 years then take over ownership).

The only potential longterm downside from my perspective is that while it produces about as much energy we use in a year, we’re definitely not energy independent with the setup. We overproduce in the summer and underproduce in the winter, so even with a battery we would still be reliant on the grid. But our electric is typically over $100/month and with our states grid setup, we can basically zero that out.

Disney is pretty well known for popularizing the rubber hose style animation that cup head uses as it’s inspiration. While Looney toons was around the same time period and had some elements, I don’t think it’s considered rubber hose style.

Yeah, then that’s a weird ask. They could have a legitimate plan, but it’s weird to not start with a mvp using an API or similar before buying dedicated hardware. If they can’t articulate what they’re going to do, then they shouldn’t know what hardware they even need.

I was just noting that he hasn’t crossed the line of not swearing someone in. If he was preventing someone casting votes that should/would be a big deal.

I don’t think that’s actually been a real issue. While Johnson waited some 3-4 weeks to swear in Grijalva around the recent shutdown, congress was technically in recess the whole time. While it’s kinda a jerk move, the moment he finally called back congress into session he did swear her in. So nothing was voted on or done inbetween her being eligible to be sworn in and when she was actually sworn in.

He did keep congress in recess for a long time to hold up passing the bill on the epstein file release (as Grijalva was a critical vote on that), but it didn’t really change anything.

So to play the devils advocate, this really comes down to:

• Are these internal people or contractors
• Are they looking to test out a Workflow or implement small automations

If they’re contractors, always be suspicious. If they’re internal, it sounds like they may want a server so it’s a one off cost to setup some work flows. You can burn through hundreds to thousands of dollars per month using LLM APIs, but if you self host you’ve basically got a fixed cost.

If they’re just looking to create some work flows that crawl the data dumps and give some insights, this approach could work. Although, as others mentioned, the hardware they’re talking about would be somewhat limited. Small LLMs can be quite functional, but this server might not be a long term fix if the automations they set up gain traction.

Unless something revolutionary happens, AI is not taking your job anytime soon. This is just another wave of the tech sector trying to beat down developers because they don’t want to pay them.

If current AI systems could actually replace people, the the job market would have already collapsed. Right now in the US the job market sucks because of Trumps policies and wars.

You do realize they could be campaigning on these things. Making noise, drawing more attention to Trumps policy failures.

Maybe it’s just the reporting of it, but the only person I actively heard making a big stink within the party was David Hogg. The party had a big issue with his approach that they used a technicality to remove him from his position in the party.

That’s crazy, your other expenses (internet/electricity) seem comparable, but your food must be so much cheaper than in the US. Where I am, chicken alone is like $5 per pound. I think a pound of any decent cheese is $8-10.

I feel like we tend to sorta play up the migrations from the past. I’m sure, especially earlier in history, there were more people looking for some type of freedom, but lots of people migrated for “opportunity”.
