Fediverse has NeoDB

Fediverse has NeoDB

There are fediverse options like NeoDB & Gush.

Too bad. But you can join us for the sequel in two weeks (next week Bulletproof Monk)

Hope you can make it!

I meant the kind of tags at the bottom of Piefed posts

I also mentioned someone by their user name, which is also called tagging. Wish there were different names for the two things.
It seems that user (one person, two accounts) did see my post as they replied to it.

I try to make sure I put tags on all my Piefed posts (many of which I subscribe to on Mastodon). I also follow my Piefed acct from my Masto acct (I’ll probably never understand fully how federation works but I hope that helps).
So usually my Piefed posts are noticeable almost instantly on my Masto, just not this time for some reason.

I guess I’ve been lucky so I got used to almost-instant crossposting.

Re the link, this is how it appears when viewed on ohai/Mastodon

(The post count listed at top is just 2, but there are dozens & dozens of posts viewable when scrolling down.)
My ohai account is already subscribed to #NeoDB AND it follows my piefed account (anything to try & make federation work 😁).
AND now I went back from “Followers” to “Posts” on that page, my last two Piefed posts finally show up on Mastodon! But I have no idea why it took over an hour for them to show up when the others times it was instant. Maybe one of the instances had “cross-format” federation paused for a while?

So… sort of solved?

I used to be on ZeroNet, which enabled everything to be P2P: blogs, forums, social networks, text chat, messaging, filesharing, code forges even. No servers, and all accessible with one account.
But it never really took off (& of the few people there, too many were the kind kicked off other platforms IMHO for good reason). But I still hope P2P solutions will rise up, so we can avoid all the issues involved with depending on servers. Good luck with PeerBox!

Another, Ronnie Corbett (described in a Restore Sheffield Facebook post incorrectly as ‘Ronnie Barker’)
If I’d made that joke myself, at best a light chuckle. Restore Sheffield’s own social media team (a Trojan horse?) doing it? Priceless 😆

IIRC, traditionally the most difficult ingredient to acquire for mass-producing counterfeit paper money is convincing paper.
Except the US Treasury makes that part easy: just get US$1 notes (US: bills).
The exact same paper & the exact same dimensions as the US$100 note. Bleach them & reprint with the $100 design and voilà! You’ve turned a $1 note into a $100 one.
Whereas many (if not most) other currencies long ago made sure to print larger value notes on different (larger) dimensions and/or types of paper so that counterfeiters couldn’t do the simple “bleach & reprint” trick.
Compare with UK banknotes where larger value notes have larger dimensions. A £50 note is 146 × 77 mm whereas a £5 is just 125 × 65 mm.
Also, UK banknotes & many others around the world are polymer now, not paper. I don’t think you could do the bleach & reprint technique on polymer notes even if they were the right size.

Any info on what the woman on the left is doing?

And here’s the trailer for the recent re-release
On one of our machines, a couple of times updates have “de-Mintified” Xfce, making it like stock Xfce & removing things like Whisker Menu.
Managed to fix it once, but still de-Mintified (but only on the main user account, not the admin account 🤨) this time. Might have to give up on Mint Xfce.

Captain Shitshow & the Shitshowettes shit the bed and then cry when others don’t rush to clean up their mess.
I believe it was in Laws that Plato said that laws don’t represent right & wrong but what those with the power to make laws want to be right & wrong

But was he mad? And did he declare his power was greater than Jesus’s?

Any info on the chances of this actually passing?
On NeoDB, you can create entries yourself, as well as import from various sources: IMDb, TMDB, Letterboxd, Douban etc
