Technology@lemmy.zip•A glimpse of future cities? China opens first robot-run volunteer station in public park
5·25 days agorobot volunteers
How exactly did the robots volunteer?
Hmm looks like lemmy.world updated recently but doesn’t look like there’s any related changes so its weird that this just started randomly.
I just tested from my lemmy.world alt. @olorin99@lemmy.world posting into !testing@piefed.social and it worked fine.

The web client works but could you test from another third party app. Would like to check if its something specific to Interstellar or if something’s up with lemmy.world.
The error says language not allowed. What language are you using? And is it only piefed communities? Posting to lemmy and mbin communities works fine?

PieFed Meta@piefed.social•Searching from search results page does not work
5·1 month agoLooks like the community parameter is borked. To fix the second url remove the 0 from the community parameter.
Broken https://piefed.social/search?q=test&community=0&language=0&search_for=posts Should work https://piefed.social/search?q=test&community=&language=0&search_for=posts

Not The Onion@lemmy.world•Bible-infused public school curriculum in Texas to correct thousands of errors
4·2 months agoBluebonnet was approved despite concerns from religious scholars that the reading lessons favored Christianity over other faith traditions and pushback from advocacy groups that the materials inappropriately prioritized preaching over teaching.
It wasn’t approved by religious scholars. They were against the new curriculum.

Android@lemdro.id•Any PieFed Android apps that merge the comments of every post sharing a link, similar to how PieFed does it?
7·2 months agohttps://piefed.social/community/fediverse/wiki/piefed-app has a list of apps and their feature support. Interstellar currently is the only app with merged comments but I believe other app devs have plans to add it too.

This is the first I’ve read this, how much of a pain is it to use Linux instead? I don’t have any Windows computers.
No issues at all. Not sure what drivers the author was referring to but using the web installer you pretty much just plug the phone in and click through some buttons.

Interstellar App@kbin.earth•Just installed the desktop app and it's awesome.
4·2 months agoSpell check would be good. Unfortunately Flutter, the framework we use, doesn’t have support for it on desktop platforms yet.
To refresh on desktop theres a floating button on the bottom right which shows/hides some other buttons, one of which is a refresh. In Settings -> Feed Actions, you can change the locations of these buttons if you wish.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Are there any auto translating iOS lemmy clients?
4·2 months agohttps://github.com/interstellar-app/interstellar has an auto translate feature.
Settings -> Display -> “Hide feed UI on scroll” will hide the top bar on scroll. Then under Settings -> Feed actions, you can change the location of several ui elements. If I remember correctly “Set Filter” defaults to Tabs. If you change it to “App bar” or “FAB menu” it should reduce the screen space used.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Is there a Matrix client that has an interface similar to Discord?
4·3 months agohttps://commet.chat/ is the closest I’ve seen.

Yes the notifications were retrieved from the phones local storage. Firebase was not involved in anyway.
