about

A groundbreaking gathering: João Selva, Diogo Strausz and Patchworks join forces for a Brazilian disco anthem When Brazil and France team up to get the world dancing, the result can only be electrifying. Brazilians João Selva and Diogo Strausz, rising stars of the Brazilian music scene, have teamed up with French groove master Patchworks for a track that promises to set dance floors ablaze. Their goal? To party, without compromise. Brazil, the land of samba and baile funk, has always known how to export its party spirit far beyond its borders. With this new project, the three artists continue a tradition of blending Brazilian rhythms with disco, reminiscent of timeless hits like "Mas que nada" by Sergio Mendes or "Estelar" by Marcos Valle. A bold fusion that celebrates the musical heritage between Brazil and the United States. “For several years, Diogo and I have regularly crossed paths on tour,” says João Selva. “And last year, at the Radio Meuh Circus Festival, as the sun was rising, we said to each other: we absolutely have to create a track together.” They met last summer in Lyon, at Patchworks’ Ginger X studio, to bring this explosive collaboration to life. Inspired by the “Disco: I’m Coming Out” exhibition at the Philharmonie de Paris, the track immerses the listener in the golden age of 1970s New York disco. Liberated bodies, unbridled creativity, sexual freedom… The lyrics evoke the party as a space of liberation, a reinvention of existence. “When I saw the photos and the wild energy of the exhibition, I immediately thought of the spirit of street carnival in Brazil, where partying isn’t a choice, but a vital necessity,” explains João Selva. To amplify this energy, the three artists called upon their collaborator JKriv, DJ, producer, and founder of the New York label Razor’n Tape, a key player in the nu-disco scene. From his New York studio, he delivers a hard-hitting remix, with acid sounds and deep bass, that creates an irresistible urge to dance. A track for partying, body and soul, that arrives just in time to ignite the warm summer nights. EP available on 26th june 2026
