About

Sabrina Carpenter Yodeling Reaction or Sabrina Carpenter Zaghrouta Reaction is a reaction image of pop artist Sabrina Carpenter with a confused look on her face after hearing someone in the crowd of her Coachella 2026 performance doing a Zaghrouta, a Middle Eastern cheer. A video of Carpenter's reaction went viral in mid-April 2026, following her performance.

The clip inspired controversy over the following days about the way she reacted to the cheer, calling it "weird" and describing it as a "yodel." Carpenter apologized shortly after the clip went viral, explaining that she couldn't see or hear them and didn't know what a Zaghrouta was. Carpenter's face also went viral as the subject of memes in mid-April 2026, displaying the image alongside captions that joke about reacting with disgust to a given subject, similar to the Disgusted Homelander meme.

Origin

On April 10th, 2026, pop star Sabrina Carpenter performed at Coachella. At one point in her set, while sitting at a piano, Carpenter hears someone in the crowd do a Zaghrouta, a Middle Eastern cheer.[1] She reacts with confusion, saying, "I don't like it." The person who cheered yells, "That's my culture," and Carpenter says, "That's your culture? Yodeling?" She then says, "Is this Burning Man? What's going on? This is weird," and continued her performance.

The video quickly inspired backlash online. For example, on April 11th, X[2] user @notpopbase posted the clip, writing, "sabrina saying that she doesn’t like a cultural arabic cheer… this is so insensitive and islamophobic. I am very disappointed in her," gaining over 27,000 likes in two days.

Later that day, Carpenter quote-reposted[3] the video with an apology, writing, "my apologies I didn’t see this person with my eyes and couldn’t hear clearly. my reaction was pure confusion, sarcasm and not ill intended. could have handled it better! now I know what a Zaghrouta is! I welcome all cheers and yodels from here on out," gaining over 368,000 likes in two days.
