Nice try, Bari Weiss
Tangential, but speaking of Dawson City, cannot recommend this documentary enough. Amazing story of how the hockey rink built for the Nuggets saved a boatload of films from the early motion picture era. Many of them were unknown/forgotten. Dawson City:Frozen Time
Mueller has cited the combat death of his Princeton lacrosse teammate David Spencer Hackett in the Vietnam War as an influence on his decision to pursue military service.[24] Of his classmate, Mueller has said, “One of the reasons I went into the Marine Corps was because we lost a very good friend, a Marine in Vietnam, who was a year ahead of me at Princeton. There were a number of us who felt we should follow his example and at least go into the service. And it flows from there."[25] Hackett was a Marine Corps first lieutenant in the infantry and was killed in 1967 in Quảng Trị province by small arms fire.[26]
I was in 1st/2nd grade, but rode the schoolbus with high schoolers in the early 70s. Kids who had relatives drafted. Everyone hated that war but some felt a need to enlist for reasons such as those of Mueller. A good friend of mine enlisted in the Marines 20 years after his uncle was killed in Vietnam, out of a sense of honoring his memory. He is no monster.
Yes, there was his part in the selling of the WMD narrative in Iraq:
On February 11, 2003, one month before the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq, Mueller gave testimony to the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence. Mueller informed the American public that “[s]even countries designated as state sponsors of terrorism—Iran, Iraq, Syria, Sudan, Libya, Cuba, and North Korea—remain active in the United States and continue to support terrorist groups that have targeted Americans. As Director Tenet has pointed out, Secretary Powell presented evidence last week that Baghdad has failed to disarm its weapons of mass destruction, willfully attempting to evade and deceive the international community. Our particular concern is that Saddam Hussein may supply terrorists with biological, chemical or radiological material."[48][49] Highlighting this worry in February 2003, FBI Special Agent Coleen Rowley wrote an open letter to Mueller in which she warned that “the bureau will [not] be able to stem the flood of terrorism that will likely head our way in the wake of an attack on Iraq"[50][51] and encouraged Mueller to “share [her concerns] with the President and Attorney General.”
But he did oppose the renewal of the warrantless wiretapping:
On March 10, 2004, while United States Attorney General John Ashcroft was at the George Washington University Hospital for gallbladder surgery,[52] then-deputy attorney general James Comey received a call from Ashcroft’s wife informing him that White House Chief of Staff Andrew Card and White House Counsel Alberto Gonzales were about to visit Ashcroft to convince him to renew a program of warrantless wiretapping under the Terrorist Surveillance Program which the DOJ ruled unconstitutional.[52] Ashcroft refused to sign, as he had previously agreed, but the following day the White House renewed the program anyway.[52] Mueller and Comey then threatened to resign.[53] On March 12, 2004, after private, individual meetings with Mueller and Comey at the White House, the president supported changing the program to satisfy the concerns of Mueller, Ashcroft, and Comey.
Unlike Capt. Bonespurs, Mueller enlisted for Vietnam and was a highly decorated Marine.
After waiting a year so a knee injury could heal, Mueller was accepted for officer training in the United States Marine Corps in 1968, attending training at Parris Island, Officer Candidate School, Army Ranger School, and Army jump school. Of these, he said later that he considered Ranger School the most valuable because he felt “more than anything teaches you about how you react with no sleep and nothing to eat."[27][28]
In the summer of 1968, he was sent to South Vietnam, where he served as a rifle platoon leader as a second lieutenant with Second Platoon, H Company, 2nd Battalion, 4th Marines, 3rd Marine Division.[10][29] On December 11, 1968, during an engagement in Operation Scotland II, he earned the Bronze Star with “V” device for combat valor for rescuing a wounded Marine under enemy fire during an ambush in which he saw half of his platoon become casualties.[30][31] In April 1969, he received an enemy gunshot wound in the thigh, recovered, and returned to lead his platoon until June 1969.[32] For his service in and during the Vietnam War, his military decorations and awards included additionally, the Purple Heart, two Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals with Combat “V”, Combat Action Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with four service stars, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Parachutist Badge.
…
Reflecting on his service in the Vietnam War, Mueller said, “I consider myself exceptionally lucky to have made it out of Vietnam. There were many—many—who did not. And perhaps because I did survive Vietnam, I have always felt compelled to contribute."[35] In 2009, he told a writer that despite his other accomplishments, he was still “most proud the Marine Corps deemed me worthy of leading other Marines.”

WASHINGTON - The U.S. Interior Department said a database revealing how President Donald Trump’s administration planned to revise information on key phases of American history at national park sites was deliberative and the employees who released it “will be held accountable.”
An internal government database first reported by the Washington Post and posted on two public websites on Monday revealed the scope of the Trump administration’s effort to revise or remove information on African-American history, LGBT rights, climate change and other topics at hundreds of national park sites.
“The narrative being advanced is false and these draft, deliberative internal documents are not a representation of final action taken by the department,” an Interior Department spokesperson said. The National Park Service is part of the Interior Department.
Trump has targeted cultural and historical institutions - from museums to monuments to national parks - to remove what he calls “anti-American” ideology.
His name is Charles Kushner, father of asswipe Jared. Fuck all these people.
Also him:
Criminal conviction and pardon
On June 30, 2004, Kushner was fined $508,900 by the Federal Election Commission for contributing to Democratic political campaigns in the names of his partnerships when he lacked authorization to do so.[17] In 2005, following an investigation by United States attorney for the District of New Jersey Chris Christie negotiated a plea agreement with him, under which Kushner pleaded guilty to 18 counts of illegal campaign contributions, tax evasion, and witness tampering.[18][19][20] The witness tampering charge arose from Kushner’s retaliation against William Schulder, his sister Esther’s husband, who was cooperating with federal investigators against Kushner.[21]Kushner hired a prostitute to seduce his brother-in-law, arranging to record a sexual encounter between the two and send the tape to his sister.[[18]](https://en.wikipedia.org/api/rest_v1/page/mobile-html/Charles_Kushner#cite_note-NYTimes3.5.05-18) He was sentenced to two years in prison and served 14 months at Federal Prison Camp, Montgomery, in Alabama before being sent to a halfway house in Newark, New Jersey, to complete his sentence.[18][22][23][24] He was released from prison on August 25, 2006.[25]
As a convicted felon, Charles Kushner was also disbarred and prohibited from practicing law in New Jersey,[26] New York,[27] and Pennsylvania.[28] Republican Chris Christie, who chaired Trump’s first transition team, said Kushner committed “one of the most loathsome, disgusting crimes” he prosecuted.[29]
December 2020 pardon granted by Donald Trump
On December 23, 2020, President Trump issued a full and unconditional pardon to Kushner, his daughter’s father-in-law,[30] citing his record of “reform” and “charity”.[3][4]

Illness and death
On August 31, 2023, Van Der Beek was diagnosed with colorectal cancer; he did not make his diagnosis public until November 2024. He stated that he had “been privately dealing with this diagnosis and [has] been taking steps to resolve it” with the support of his family.[42] In November 2025, he announced that he would be auctioning items from Dawson’s Creek and Varsity Blues to help cover costs associated with his cancer treatment.[43]
Van Der Beek died on February 11, 2026, at the age of 48.[1][37]
Emphasis mine. Fuck cancer and fuck for-profit healthcare even more. RIP
Republican US Representative Thomas Massie said on 10 February that prominent Emirati businessman Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem was the sender of the “torture video” received by convicted pedophile, sex trafficker, financier, and intelligence asset Jeffrey Epstein.
The revelation comes after several US representatives obtained access to unredacted parts of Epstein’s emails from the Department of Justice (DOJ).
“In response to my posts on X today, DOJ unredacted an FBI file that LABELS two individuals as co-conspirators, unredacted a file that lists several men who might be implicated, and tacitly admitted that Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem was the sender of the torture video,” Massie said on X.
“Until tonight no one knew who sent the torture video to Epstein. I went to DOJ, unredacted the email, and reverse searched the email to discover it was a Sultans. Our law requires VICTIM’s information to be redacted, not information of men who sent Epstein torture porn!”
Earlier, Massie wrote on social media that “a Sultan seems to have sent” the email to Epstein.
The email in question is part of the recent flood of shocking releases made by the DOJ, relating to Epstein and his close ties with prominent figures across the globe – including US President Donald Trump, former Israeli premier Ehud Barak, Prince Andrew of the UK, and others.
“Where are you? Are you ok, I loved the torture video,” Epstein wrote in the mail.
The person whose name has been redacted in the files made public responded saying, “I am in china I will be in the US 2nd week of May.”
Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche also said on Tuesday that Sulayem’s name was available unredacted in file EFTA00666117.
The Epstein files have recently revealed other confirmed correspondences between the late pedophile and the Emirati businessman, some of which related to sexual matters.
In September 2015, Sulayem wrote to Epstein about a foreign exchange student at a Dubai university, saying, “She got engaged but now she back with me. Amazing body, best sex I’ve ever had.”
Sulayem is the CEO of multinational logistics firm DP World, which specializes in port terminal operations and maritime services, among other things.
Several images have been released of Sulayem and Epstein together.
The recent DOJ releases have reinforced, if not confirmed, the belief that Epstein worked for the Mossad, despite some who have tried to label him as a Russian asset.
A declassified FBI memo released on 30 January states that Trump was “compromised by Israel,” that Epstein was an Israeli intelligence agent, and that a Jewish religious movement, Chabad Lubavitch, had coopted Trump’s presidency.
Trump is mentioned thousands of times in the Epstein files. Documents released last month included allegations that the US president raped a 13-year-old girl.

I just had the cast from a broken wrist taken off the day before. Couldn’t use the arm yet, per doc. Got up the next morning, 6” of snow fell overnight. My car was parked on the street, and a plow had already been by and piled it up to near the door handle. Got in on the passenger side, started the car to warm up and grabbed my big scraper to start clearing off the car. Dude finished pushing a car free across the street and walks over, sees my sling and says, “I got you! Go get warm in the car”. Took him close to 15 minutes, completely dug me out and scraped my windows. His name was Brian. He saved me that day.

Hope you’re watching him playing Fritz rn. So far, well worth staying up way too late.
Called “Earthrise”, taken during the Apollo 8 mission in December 1968. Always tried to imagine what it was like to have had that view IRL.

Trump signs order directing creation of a national voter list, a move already facing lawsuit threats (apnews.com)
The president is a vocal critic of mail-in voting, alleging that the practice is rife with fraud as he pushes lawmakers to pass a far-reaching elections bill that would clamp down on it. A 2025 report by the Brookings Institution found that mail voting fraud occurred in only 0.000043% of total mail ballots cast, or about four cases per 10 million.
