They were the ones who originally reported that Josh Simons broke the law. The Guardian and other papers only quoted them.

Congratulations. Democracy for Sale just took down a powerful politician from office. Quality journalism matters.
I love Carole Cadwalladr but don’t let perfect be the enemy of good.
1. Most of The Guardian funding comes from readers. I give money every year. But readers only aren’t enough to sustain it. They also need to look for other revenue sources.
2. There is no evidence that she was fired specifically because Open AI requested it. That would be a major scandal and the entire newsroom would revolt.
3. The Guardian remains an excellent newspaper. They won more journalism awards than any other UK paper.
