Steven D. Silverman

Mr. Silverman serves as the firm’s managing partner and brings more than 30 years of experience handling litigation in state and federal courts throughout Maryland and the surrounding region. Over the course of his career, he has developed a distinguished reputation as both a trial attorney and negotiator, achieving significant results on behalf of clients in a wide range of complex legal matters.

His practice encompasses sophisticated civil litigation, appellate matters, and high-profile criminal defense. Mr. Silverman has been named among Maryland’s Top 100 Trial Lawyers by the American Association of Trial Lawyers for 12 consecutive years. He has also received national recognition, including being selected as one of the top 10 criminal defense attorneys in the Northeast and among the top 100 attorneys overall in the northeastern United States.

Since beginning his legal career in 1991, Mr. Silverman has represented thousands of individuals facing criminal charges in courts across Maryland and the Mid-Atlantic. His courtroom record includes more than two decades without a loss in a criminal jury trial.

While criminal defense played a prominent role in establishing Mr. Silverman’s reputation early in his career, his experience extends extensively into complex civil litigation. He has served as lead counsel in numerous civil jury trials in both state and federal courts. His accomplishments in civil litigation have earned national recognition, including selection to U.S. News Best Lawyers in America for civil litigation as recently as 2023. Federal courts have also appointed Mr. Silverman to leadership roles in major national class actions, including serving as lead or co-lead counsel in litigation involving NHL concussion claims in Minnesota and NFL painkiller claims in California.
