Hi, i’m looking at a replacement for my garmin forerunner 305.
Something that fits running and swimming, preferablu not from usa, has good privacy, and … Can be read without my reading glasses.
Most can be found in comparisons, but not readability without reading glasses.
But I can’t be the only one ;) Any recomendations?
I also have Garmin devices, but they are based in Kansas. I think Suunto and Polar are both Finnish, but I don’t know if they’ll fit your use case.
Suunto is now a Chinese company. They got bought out a few years ago.
Withings (horrible biometrics tracking, like 70% accurate) and Polar ate the only two European companies of consumer wearables AFAIK.
Sadly, Apple and Amazfit (specifically the helio strap) and a few Garmin models have the best biometrics tracking. Polar is quite mediocre for their watches, though their chest straps are the best in the business.
I’m glad Withings delayed their Scanwatch so long. I was eying that as my move from Android smart watches to something less of a smart watch and more hybrid or fitness watch. (Never actually used many of the smart watch features). I ended up with a Garmin Venu and later a Garmin Fenix, both of which were nice and functional watches. I did not realize how much I would enjoy the Fenix’s button only navigation, but it’s the best thing ever. Touchscreens on watches are a gimmick that slows me down. Buttons are fast and are operable without actually looking. Not sure what we can recommend for OP though. It seems the options aren’t endless as they might once have been.
Anyone know what the text is like on some of the bigger Amazfit watches?
