Not saying you should go there and vote, I’m just saying you can go there and vote…

They should process the entire assimilation process just like the other candidates which want to join the EU. No cherry-picking Britains anymore.

They had a special agreement made when it was still an option. If they rejoin, adopting the Euro is going to be a requirement. Like it already is for Sweden and Czech Republic.

It’s not news, but the Daily Mail is a hugely anti EU rag and it’s readers are (were?) big Brexiteers, so 48% could be seen as very positive given the audience.

There are polls of the general public as well, which provide a more useful measure than the Daily Mail’s readership. Currently, a bit over 30% of the population (still) thinks Brexit was a good idea, and just shy of 60% think it was a bad idea in hindsight.

You’d expect this to be an obvious issue for Labour to run on, but it’s not that straightforward. Directly calling for a re-entry into the EU is basically calling Brexit voters stupid, and voters don’t like being called stupid, even when (as in this case) it is very much true.

I think that the issue is less that the Daily Mail readership isn’t that useful for random people in assessing overall UK support for Brexit and more than the Daily Mail probably had originally intended the poll to be pro-Brexit and then to to show the poll to its readers to leverage the bandwagon effect to reinforce an anti-EU position.

It’s 57% for rejoin now. I don’t think the poll is going the way they set it up to go.

It’s embedded in the text, but the link is to the poll so it should take you straight to it.
