      Don’t get too excited. It could easily get worse. They just change the people in the media and declare their own truth. Pushing out the former guys buddy. I mean these all look good on paper, but they also look like every other power grab in history. Let’s hold off and see where it goes before sighing in relief.

        In its place, prime minister-elect Peter Magyar said, the incoming Tisza party will build a “real, independent public broadcaster – one where the opposition finally has a voice too”.

        They’re the right words. Now let’s see what he does.

        Yeah it’s going to be a sketchy transformative moment for Hungary. They have to root out the authoritarian operatives and collaborators, which will be a very authoritarian process in itself. And meanwhile come out the other side as a democracy. If he does it right, they could end up being a role model.

        Is this guy like just a smidge to the left inside of the right? Like we are talking the country should be better off but it’s not like they are a left wing party. Small victories though, for sure.
