1·5 days agoI did a quick search and for steam the pacman package installed size is 19mb while the flathub package installed size is 51mb.
That’s actually a way bigger difference than I thought it would be.

1·5 days agoOf course I’m still going to use pacman to update my core packages but for extra packages that I don’t need to use pacman for, sudo does seam less secure.

2·5 days agoWhy would you download precompiled AUR binaries? it just seams more stable and secure to compile yourself, with this your trusting a third party when you didn’t have to.

1·5 days agoPerhaps I’m wrong but I just think that sudo is an unnecessary security vulnerability that should be avoided where possible.

2·7 days agoYou dont need a scraping tool. It’ll only damage your bed. My printer came with one and it was a mistake to ever use it.
I never bought anything extra. Id say be patient for now, only spend after you realise there is a problem that needs fixing.

Firefox@lemmy.ml•Name some default Firefox settings you think don't make sense.English
4·10 days agoThe default search engine!
Ok it does make sense Firefox gets a ton of money from it but it still sucks. Come use our private search engine and escape from google, actually google is our default search engine there is no escaping (manacle laughter!)
Also I believe betterfox + ublock origin should be the default Firefox config. I have used betterfox for nearly 2 years now and I have NEVER had any issues with websites breaking.

Just try harder!
