Since lichess is open-source and most people who use chess.com over lichess complain lichess “doesn’t look as good” I was wondering if there are third-party clients for lichess who are styled differently/ better? or if not, if there is a reason why there are no other clients.
Edit: okay I wasn’t aware lichess started a new iteration of a mobile app in flutter, that basically solves the problem. Still wondering if there are maybe third-party clients in general or not.
The new lichess app is really good.
And if you find it lacking, you can raise issues on github, or even fix it yourself if you have the skill.
Since they added play against stockfish, I’ve completely ditched chess.com.

My desire is exactly opostie. I’m looking for an alternative web client that would be so basic it would run on old Firefox browser on e-ink 4.2.2 device.
No animations. No colors. Just click and play.
Surprisingly, I can allredy do it on the defoult website. But loading sometimes take take, so much time that I already got warning for abandoning to many games
