2·3 years agoAI has gone through several cycles of hype and winter. There’s even a Wikipedia page for it: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/AI_winter
Of course it’s valuable to discuss the dangers and inequities of a new technology. But one of the dangers is being misled.
Right? I don’t understand why people on the fediverse are getting excited about this. At best, Reddit will have admins to insta-wipe anything objectionable. At worst, Reddit will point to the increased engagement as a sign that the protesters gave up and came back.
