I too classify this as common Fernweh. They earn for something different and fresh but most of them will never leave for more than a month or two and even those who do migrate will come back after a few years. Most of the time.
But it doesn‘t mean that‘s a bad thing at all. I think cultural exchange like that is a good sign. They know there is something else out there and there‘s at least a longing to explore it. If anything, more people should actually attempt it and not just say they would like to.

EU commission is where EU politicians are sent by their parties when they are too corrupt and/or unpopular in their own country. It‘s by design.

Big EU Commission L as per usual. Maybe we should rename them to EU Corruption?

Makes sense. DW is German and consuming to anything related to Israel in the mainstream German media landscape drives you insane very quickly. You think our press is stellar compared to most places but it‘s a bizzaro world when it comes to the near east. The lies and double think is unbearable.

Thank god cyberbullying isn‘t a thing because you can always walk away from your phone and spend time with your many offline friends! /s

People don‘t go to school in rural areas?

It will be different when they‘re forced to socialize IRL. Because now all the other kids are not online 24/7 either. This supposed problem is solving itself. I‘m a little more concerned about their lack of experience with the medium once they‘re allowed to use it. Then again a lot of them will use it anyway but even less supervised than before.

Some people just hate the idea of cheap clean energy or a basket full of little puppies. It can‘t be helped.

They‘ve been doing a lot of research on mental health due to their long and dark Winters. I bet people would be happier everywhere if we put a higher priority on happiness. It‘s not a metric billion dollar companies seem to value.

Generally it‘s probably not a good idea to tie this to a single metric but religion could be a part of it. I would guess a strong social state is the bigger factor however. Perhaps all these things go hand in hand.

Aaand Poland starts to throw tantrums again. Time to cut their funding.

As usual. People have forgotten how much of a pain in the butt Poland can be to deal with for the EU when PiS has a say. This is a first reminder of many and it‘s important to note that poles voted for this.

I already feel so much safer knowing my food is being processed by AI. /s

Based on what assumption is China a super power but the EU isn‘t? Because it isn‘t a single state? Because economically it plays in the same league.

B-b-but chancellor Merz said there‘s a lot to do and work for everyone! Us Germans are just LAZY!!! Pull yourself up by the bootstraps!! Beatings will continue until orders magically go up!

It‘s a lot more direct in terms of dealing with them. Because Germans simply… doesn‘t. Meanwhile the AfD has more convicted violent criminals with a mandate than any other party in Germany. I have no doubt they have a basement full of corpses.

Said it once I‘ll say it again: A referendum is a really bad idea for a representative democracy in times of fake news and large misinformation campaigns. The far right loves referendums because it‘s easier to manipulate the masses around a single issue in a short period of time. And that‘s exactly why you should be suspicious of them.

That‘s what the labour party thought when started the referendum. But as we know things turned out very differently. It was a catastrophe for the party and a serious blow to democracy. It’s not that hard, really. You either have a representative democracy or you don’t. But holding referendums over topics that are obviously targeted by Russian propaganda is malpractice. We can‘t be this naive about things anymore.
Car brains for sure are moronic.
