Dunno, not that professional engineering software supports

I’ve just ditched my win 10 partition for a mac mini purely to run some cad software. As a KDE user I find it hard to articulate my hatred for what the fuck is going on with macOS design philosophy.
Not having used win 11 since its first release, it’s funny how much of the above frustration I’m going through with the mac, both suck beyond suck now it seems. The base mac mini for £600 would be an amazing deal, if it was running Linux.
As an (ex currently post child…) mountain biker my threshold for having good endurance or not was being able to ride at pace for hours without sitting down. It takes a lot of fitness to do, but I found when you train like that it comes fairly quickly.
I say that because riding standing I found let’s you put more power down and also makes using minimum suspension comfortable as you use your knees instead. You need to find what works re bars and stem though as you can fuck your back up in the wrong position. To ride xc or full sus bikes off the trails I had a second set of wheels with smooth road tyres. Anything but road tyres will dramatically increase your rolling resistance on tarmac.

Bought a 5700xt on release for £400, ran that til last year when the 7900gre released in the UK. Can’t remember what I paid but it was a lot less than the flagship 7900 and I forsee lasting many years as I have no desire to go above 2K.
AMD GPUs have been pretty great value compared to nvidia recently as long as you’re not tying your self worth to your average FPS figures.

It’s the best.
Being able to communicate with apple users who are still clinging on to sms with a keyboard is great. I detest typing on touchscreens.
I’ve just thought of a new internet game…
I call it “Zoomer or Boomer?”
Service area in the new arena for the 2025 US Hunger Games

I barely use Amazon, it’s just 90% AliExpress stock at huge markup anyway, plus more importantly they’re evil. I do seem to have prime though, which I use to order something maybe every other month when it’s urgent for work. Thing is I’m not signed up for prime, it just activated when I linked an audible account to my business account years ago. I do use audible, to the limit of the credits anyway. So I’ve been kinda torn for ages and can’t bring myself to cancel as my old audible subscription seems to be giving me prime somehow for much less than prime is to sign up.
I just convince myself I’m playing the system…

I only buy fancy shit now and just eat less of it, like stokes and a couple of local ones.
All that own brand stuff is just tomato juice concentrate with a load of thickening agents plus sugar and crap to make it taste like something. And Heinz was always overly sweet crap anyway.
It can be a bit like climbing a mountain, sometimes you gotta stay at a certain height for a while to let your body acclimatise and get used to your new lifestyle.
Without a strict exercise routine it can get harder/slower the closer you get to that goal. I’d say don’t beat yourself up, make maintenance the goal for a bit while making little changes until you’re ready to push on.

American culture really has mastered being both violent and fragile

I was on emby some time ago and got sick of user issues, I tried jellyfin before that but it was worse. Very interested to know how both compare to Plex now (since maybe 4ish years ago) as I’d be very open to switching back.
I think I’d avoid emby though as I found the developer to be an annoying weirdo at times when trying to communicate.

Because that’s really just to be expected at this point, and what his audience would want…
Better to focus on constantly poking at him for being dumb, which he and his fans hate, rather than give them what they want, ie being upset at their hateful language
I’d say it was TV that gave you the PTSD. I bailed on TV at about 8 years old (28 years ago…) and every time I’ve been with people watching it since I was always amazed just how awful it all really was. But I guess it’s just what becomes normal if you grow up with it

I think they’ve done them a favour in a way. If this was day one then it might hurt them but they’re past the point of like 90% of their sales I bet, and now pegi looking like incompetent dinosaurs is just a free second wave of social media exposure

£13 but shipping is half that again so I’ve ordered 2.
They’re just on a flex cable with a smd connector so 5 mins to swap

TNG S5E2 is the legendary episode from this post. You have so many gems in your journey like S2E9 etc etc. You are in an envious position of experiencing the franchise for the first time, just make sure you start out with TNG, DS9(slow start but great), and Voy (a bit mid but with some great episodes) & I always thought enterprise was good.
Post that lot though… The newer films can be a fun cinematic experience I guess, but the series are mostly trash. SNW had some moments, Discovery had a few, but really MEH.
Oh also TNG S1 was fairly rough but improves so much as it ran. Still had its share of duds but the highs of the high points were some of the best TV of the genre at the time.

My edit of your initial insights:
Miles on average: Everything out of spec, how do I fix this?
Smith/Rock: hit it
(Shaka[…]: error) Capn: gotcha
Turkish olympics guy: Did you succeed without any specialist tools?
Raygun: No, it’s much worse
billionaire sub: Drive it into the sea.
Spongebob: X minutes later [Claim the insurance (implied from image)]
DiCaprio: Great thanks, new car works
Dune bucket: Enjoy it
Next…
I would like it if it was subtle, maybe a few thin rgb lines around the main board like traces, and something similar on other components.
I hate the everything blaring random lights look, its like a kids attempt to draw attention, it works but when you look you wish you hadn’t.
