There is a somewhat large minority that considers themselves both Taiwanese and Chinese, but when asked to choose between the two the people of Taiwan overwhelmingly (like 90%) prefer to call themselves Taiwanese.

There really isn’t a definition of Imperialism that fits China. It does explicitly fit Taiwan, given ROC’s history.
