It’s more likely they will go down the direction of making the two co-leads who meet early in the film and go on an adventure together to save Hyrule. I don’t think the old trope of “hero saves the princess”, or the modern reverse of that, will be a central part of the plot.
A film can have more than one protagonist. It’s actually very common to have co-leads.
