Normally i stay away from comp albums, but some could be albums in their own right, and Gord’s Gold is one of them.

I picked this up last Sunday while i was in Detroit for the 50th commemoration of the Edmund Fitzgerald (the Edmund Fitzgerald wouldn’t sink for another year after this album was released so The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald does not make an appearance) and am in love with it. Canadian Railroad Trilogy is an absolute masterpiece. The album enbs and flow between love, heartbreak, and nostalgia in a the way only a master of folk rock could ever accomplish. It’s a lovely, crisp fall evening here and this is making the perfect sound track while i bake cinnamon rolls.
