Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What is the coolest website you’ve visited that no one knows about?
5·3 days agoI miss stumbleupon browser extension, it would take me to the fucking coolest websites and crazy awesome stuff. Fuck the company that bought it out and trashed it.
I immediately thought of the game Left 4 dead, I thought it was edited to look like nasa lol

5·5 days agoI upload to YouTube. I know it gives up a lot of my privacy and I’m sure it’s being fed Into AI… ugh. 😩
I also upload the same videos to other video sites even if they don’t get many views.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why isn't upscaling webcomics a standard practice?
101·5 days agoWhen an artist signs their work, they are proud of their work. You’re editing out their name, removing their credit after all they did. Your reposting it shows you like their work, but you remove their credit. Fuck you beep. It’s so fucking disrespectful to edit out credit!!! Look how many down votes you have!!!

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Does anyone else feel like websites nowadays feels very broken compared to apps? Like you try to do transactions on the mobile site (eg: ordering food), and payments mysteriously declines...
4·9 days agoFirst Covid happened and I noticed every piece of tech started getting bad updates.
Then AI happened and things got worse…
Do you have the outside part in the sun or shade?
Lived in my car for a while while moving to another state. It wasn’t too bad thankfully I learned a ton from YouTube such as “cheap rv living” channel.
I did ride a horse years ago, but no racing… lol
Heat shrink and melting hot glue.
Oh and when I cut ropes/strings I burn the ends.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What do you think about power stations?
3·15 days agoI have a much larger BLUETTI that powers everything. We do not have power from the power company. It’s a quick hassle free way to setup offgrid power. I can run the microwave, air fryer, AC, welder, etc. I like that it’s all self contained and it actually outputs the power it says.
I tried the individual 12v 100Ah batteries and inverter, but these inverters all lie how much power they put out. My 1,200w inverter will beep if i use more then 350w. My 1,500 and 2,000w inverters also barely put out power. Kind of lost confidence in these cheap 12v inverters.
My plan is to setup a much bigger 48v system such as a EG4 system to power my house, once i finally build that.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What to do with surplus solar power in an island solution?
2·24 days agoNo reason to cover the panels. Your battery gets full then you use power and it charges again. It’s not waited, it just waits for when the battery needs to charge again.
You can use extra power to charge things, run appliances or tools, or whatever. It doesn’t matter.

Ask Science@lemmy.world•Posting here first before no stupid questions. Have or has anyone developed synthetic oil? That does not rely on sucking the earth dry? And we can pretty much get rid of the oil prob?English
71·26 days agoAbout 100 years ago I think it was the army made something that can turn wood, cow pies, etc into a gas that can run a jeep or generator.
Look up “wood gasifier”
Although I’m sure it pollutes even worse than oil, and produces less horsepower.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What kind of car do you drive, and what kind do you wish you did?
2·1 month agoI have a gas car, but…
I really want to DIY my own electric car. Find a small lightweight stick shift car that has a blown engine, add a forklift motor and some lithium batteries.
I have solar power so it would be free to power the car. Just have no budget for the parts yet.

I always see Blu-ray players at the thrift stores. They are cheap.
