Lol. Well that’s what happens when the US is run by idiots. A lesson that will set us back at least 50 years.
More power to you, Canada.

Sam Altman leads a company whose products have killed dozens, maybe more, sometimes after psychologically torturing them. I’m not exactly sympathetic to the guy.
This is so intensely cringe.

A comment that probably should be posted on the HN page, but is posted here instead.
I hit my head on the pavement bicycling drunk while my helmet was sitting on my desk at work. Ask me how fun the two weeks after that concussion was.
They also love fondly remembering their friend Little Stevie who tragically died aged 12 in 1957 in a helmet-less bicycle accident.
I don’t know about you guys, but I just open my throat straight down to my stomach and pour the food in.

I built and maintain an email service that has a no ai policy, called Port87.
Also, all of my open source projects use my SciActive Human Contribution Policy, which bans AI contributions.

I didn’t discover it, but made it.
It’s a progressive web app, so works on any phone, including Linux phones.

Oh no. You made a deal with the devil and it didn’t work out for you!? Who could have possibly seen that coming!?

That right there. That’s why I don’t use Facebook. I used to work there, so I know the kind of stupid fucking kids they hire. I was one of them. But invading people’s privacy like that is disgusting. Absolutely wonderful to know they don’t have systems in place to prevent this.

That was the most embarrassing phone call I’ve ever listened to.

You either die the hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.

Wow, fuck TSA.

I use Kubuntu for old hardware. It’s a pain to have to install Flatpak and Flathub every time, but once you do, it’s great.

Champagne.
Even better, now you can automate it with AI, so that it’s both very fragile and dependent on a paid subscription to work.

They have been sued, but it doesn’t matter, because that’s just the cost of doing business. (If the punishment for a crime is a fine, it’s only illegal for poor people to do it.)
Consider his products psychologically torture people until they commit suicide, I’m really not torn up about this in the slightest.
