No light failures needed:

They really dialed back on the modern music drops. Mostly it was orchestral music that wove in motifs based on the games’ soundtracks, the way it should have been in the first movie.
I see from Lymmyng’s comment I’m not the only one confused by the castle dropping back down onto a completely different planet.
For like 3/4 of the movie I thought Rosalina was going to be Peach’s mother, not sister.
The excessive attention given to Fox lends credence to those rumors there’s a Starfox game coming later this year.
No Fryguy or Triclyde. So glad we finally got Wart and Mouser recognition again, at least.
Overall, like the first movie, but bigger. A vehicle for random references and cameos where stuff just kind of happens for the fun of it. My standards for video game movies are still pretty low, so I enjoyed it for what it was. Probably won’t revisit anytime soon, but I don’t regret watching it or anything.
Also the Toy Story 5 trailer beforehand (and its “toys vs tech” story) hits a little different when half the kids in the theater were looking at their phones just a few minutes earlier. Kinda looks like you lost that fight already. :(

I’m glad there are still other DC fans out there. I love the game but it’s so tough. I swear I’ll finish it one of these decades.
Apparently a spoon left on your laptop trackpad can trick Teams into thinking you’re still there and never marking you as “away”.
Or if your name was Nasser…

How nice to make the entire driver’s seat a crumple zone.
Jessica Starr. It was Jan 20, 2017 just as he was sworn in. His terrible followers sometimes subtitled this image “autistic screeching”.

Lemmy works like Reddit formatting where you hit Enter twice for a new line (or put 2 spaces at the end).

Right this minute, if Fortnite players were all on Steam it’d be the #2 most popular game there, with a 24hr peak easily hitting #1. I’m not a fan of Tim either, but the game is still massively popular.
I was winding down to go to sleep, so I put that off for a few minutes. I don’t want to oversell the effort involved though. It was less than 10 minutes of refining search queries and scouring a handful of message threads for related info.
Or maybe I spend too much time online. :)
Wish I could take credit, but it’s good old search engine work. I searched for bathroom basins and came across several discussions of this same picture. Among all the jokes and random ideas was that link above that finally explained it.
A planter for fake plants. Apparently it was a fad in the 50s and 60s.
Yup, Fox. They helpfully put it on Friday evenings when no one was watching, and preempted it for baseball half the time too.

It’s called Cool World, and it’s art.

Ah, the Winamp method.
