World News@lemmy.world•Spaniards see Trump as the greatest threat to world peace, ahead of PutinEnglish
7·14 hours agoFinally a country that sees the reality of the situation.
That is not what I commented.
Why are so many arguments on the Internet started like this where a specific, qualified claim is made and then the response tries to pretend a universal, unqualified, ridiculous claim was made instead?
Sounds fake as hell tbh

2·1 day agoI wouldn’t buy a Mac to install Linux on it for a number of reasons, but I assumed someone somewhere had tried to install Linux on Apple silicon and I was correct. Apparently, asahi works on it: https://www.linuxnest.com/how-to-install-linux-on-a-macbook-m1-m2-m3-intel-the-complete-2025-guide/
It sounds like limited support, and I honestly have no idea why someone would do this. I think a better path to even alternative silicon Linux (non-x86 stuff) would be buying some type of ARM.

A Boring Dystopia@lemmy.world•We now have online casinos with corrupt backdoor ties to the Trump family letting people bet on the actions of the Trump family. It's not insider trading anymore. It's just the house's cut
13·1 day agoHey, look at that! A Trump finally figured out how to run a fucking casino!
Voted for Harris, regret the vote now because I argue with insincere, blame mongers like you.
Yep, you got me, I’m a dyed-in-the-wool “blue no matter who” blame monger 👍. Not just a guy who can obviously see that the American electorate had a simple choice at general election time and chose…poorly.
I’ll once again state the obvious: shit is NOT better than it was before the American electorate “taught” the Democrats a “lesson” by not voting for Harris.
But hey, at least we have folks like you who look on the bright side. Even if the Democratic establishment is still completely the same, and largely “learned” the “lesson” that Harris was “too woke” and “cared too much about pronouns”, the Republicans are even more nakedly authoritarian because that resulted in electoral success for the mad king, we’re “all gas, no brakes” going over the cliff, and we’ve taken several large steps toward accelerating the worst of the climate crisis.
That’s not to mention the building full of schoolchildren, the people ICE disappears and kills, etc. etc. forever.
You’re exhausting to go back and forth with, and there’s no value in these exchanges. So enjoy your optimism and I won’t be typing any further responses. Keep advocating for third parties that’ll never mathematically work in the system we have. I’m sure you’ll continue to enjoy electoral success! 🫡

As long as you continue to play with their games they’ll continue to never improve.
Look man, the American electorate did what you wanted and didn’t vote for Harris. Things looking better? Things improving?

It’s not game theory when you see the two parties as the same side of the same coin which is what people like you fail to realize.
Same side of the same coin? That is…not the expression.
I’m pretty sure Trump could actually nuke Iran and you’d still be on here talking about how Harris would’ve been bad…exactly how I was saying in my first response.
There’s a time to vote for an alternative in the US system. That time is during the primary. If you actually gave a shit you’d be advocating for ranked choice, a change to the funding system of elections, or both. But nope, you’re just another one of Trump’s useful idiots.
I agree that it’s a dumb strategy, but given the choice it’s obvious that Harris was better qualified, less evil, and would not actively work to make your life worse. It’s just that the average American voter is a window licker / paste eater so they voted for the other guy.
Not in this voting system there isn’t. I don’t know why online third party cranks are so fucking abysmal at game theory. It’s blatantly obvious that only two outcomes are possible on general election day but you lot think you can manifest third party viability through shit posting.
Dude could actually nuke Iran and kill millions and dumb assholes online still wouldn’t concede that he is and was obviously the worse evil.

That a particular post “sounds” fake as hell is indeed a specific, qualified claim.
I’m not saying that nothing similar ever happened at any point in time which is what you’re trying to get me to defend. I’m saying that this particular post sounds fake as hell.
