I forget who, but a user on lemmy.ca has done some surveys of users (mostly on that instance?) and it would be interesting to see how much, if any, overlap exists between Linux users and Hannah Montana fans. I guess if this OS exists, there might be someone.

I use Graphene, and have been modding android ops since before the iPhone 7. I was issued an iphone 12 for work a few years ago and it DRIVES ME UP A WALL! Not sure how you can accept it while using Linux on your computer. Apple phones really are like the windows of mobile computing with enormous update files that take forever and settings you can’t really change.

I think that, after an initial adjustment, you will really like using Graphene. It allows you to use google things if you choose, just as many Linux systems allow you to use wine and therefore windows. Or, you could just not 🙂 It works great either way.

I want to see what these natural gas generators look like. I have seen a spike of some type of gas equipment going down the highway but they don’t necessarily look like photos I see in internet searches.

I only associate these things with gas from having spent time in oil and gas fields, and I don’t see them on the road this often (until now).

I am about 20 years in, started with Ubuntu and have been with Debian stuff since. I’m not a power user, so when I do any CLI work it’s familiar, but more recently have wanted to get a laptop to experiment with something different. I did appreciate Lubuntu on a cheap used laptop I bought about 15 years ago, currently using something provided thru Mint.

I’ve had very few problems. Not with software at any rate!

That’s unfortunate 🫤 The closest weather station to me is an hour away, so even getting a temperature can be problematic in my area. I would not have noticed a change over the last 14 months. Their modeling is still pretty good! Based, however, off historical data that, I assume, is already at least partially irrelevant.

I have always had good luck using weather.gov. not the most mobile friendly website but it works and the are upfront about their data. In my town, that is helpful since, as @[email protected] mentioned, we can’t always trust closer “weather stations” if they even exist.

I don’t think they have an app, but it’s just a couple clicks away in a browser 🤷‍♂️

This has been one of the advantages of petroleum: the ability to make the same or similar product without concerns like this. Latex, for example.

I don’t know the answer, but it’s funny you mention The (Three) Stooges in this context as that is the only video cassette I remember wearing out from new. It had three shorts (I think) including one where they worked at a laundry.

I’ve used different Linux OSs for 20 years and switched DEs without a thought and without a big install and never had a problem. Seems like one of the advantages, but maybe I am not using the programs you are.

This makes me think about vellichor! And the smell of piñon in the first cold spell of fall.
