Why do i see so many comments that are missing? Sometimes they are in threads that are getting heated and I could understand someone deleting a really bad take but other times it’s in a shitpost like the example.
my guess is whoever you were responding to deleted their account.

Problem is, can 100% confirm if you block em that is what ya see, not sure bout if they block you
Nothing happens on the blocked user’s end. On mbin I even still get PMs from them.
I’m blocking a lot of communities (all sports related) but I’m not blocking any users or instances.
I also See these missing comments a lot ( almost in Every third discussion), but i did not block anyone so far. Also no instances. Is it possible that these are comments from instances my instance defederated?

Like, you’re instance A, one of those accounts is on instance B, and the ones you can’t see are from instance C.
So A has an issue with C, but B doesn’t.
So A (you) can see comments from A and B. But B can see comments from A,B, and C.
A doesn’t see the C’s, but knows B has replied.
It’s also possible your app is the issue if not using web client.
That makes sense. I don’t usually use the web client.

Yep. This is weird. I can see your comment in my messages but if I go to the actual post it shows that there is a message but I can’t expand it to see it.
