Donald Trump critics aimed ridicule at the president after he publicly demanded the removal of his portrait at Colorado’s state capitol building, calling it “truly the worst”.

In a post on his Truth Social platform on Sunday, Trump shared an image of the portrait and complained about the painting, saying it was bad and blaming it on Colorado’s governor, Jared Polis – whom the president insulted as being “radically left”.

A Republican admirer of Trump actually commissioned the portrait.

I don’t think it’s very good, and it’s in a style I don’t care for. It’s not that bad, though, and looks better than Trump himself.

Thank you for the head-on image of the painting.

It just looks like…a painting, rather than a photo. His face is a little broad (not chubby, just stretched horizontally), but that literally doesn’t matter?? It’s a painting. Not everyone can pull off (or even wants) photorealism in art.

It doesn’t even look that bad. I don’t know what he’s complaining about

It’s called negging. They think if you insult someone’s effort for you, they’ll just try to please you more. And they’re so fucked in the head, they fall for it themselves.

Except he’s trying to blame Democrats in the state government, who had nothing to do with the painting. There’s no guile here, it’s just him being a crazy asshole as usual.
