I’ve spent a little more than I wanted recently.
But don’t sleep on tofu. You can get a block for $2-3 which makes a fair bit of food.
Also if you see discounted milk or can’t finish it in time consider curdling it with vinegar and making paneer.
Edit: Also my cat doesn’t like using her scratching posts, preferring to scratch cardboard laid flat on the ground. So if your cat is a horizontal scratcher just save panels from old boxes for a cheap easily replaceable toy. (Put fresh ones down when very shredded so they don’t eat pieces of the cardboard.)
